Preserving and interpreting the drainage history of the Isle of Axholme...

About Us

The Owston Ferry Pumping Engine Preservation Society is a young society, being formally constituted in 2007.

The objectives of the society are to interpret and preserve the engines and machinery, housed in the South Street Pumping station, Owston Ferry.

The society set itself an additional task of recording and interpreting the history of drainage within the Isle of Axholme, an activity that has been fundamental to local heritage.
